Baby crabs are a popular species in Vietnam. Baby crabs are harvested in mangrove areas. Baby crabs are also usually found in riverbanks while some are cultured in fish ponds. In some cases, these small crabs can be caught in rice fields.
Baby crabs are highly sought after for their fine eating qualities and although are not quite as sweet as blue manna’s certainly make up for it with their sheer size. Chilli and ginger baby crabs still proves to be a hard dish to beat anywhere.
Baby crabs taste meatiness, distinctively sweet, moist and firm flesh and attractiveness in seafood dishes and platters. With their sweet, almost nutty flavor, frozen baby crabs makes for a delicious dish. Baby crab is especially tasty when deep-fried.
Baby crab meat contains more protein than meat and fish. In addition, it also contains high levels of calcium, omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2 and vitamin C.
